NEW YORK, United States — Macy’s is launching a girls’s clothes line geared toward Muslim customers.
The division retailer chain says it teamed up with a boutique known as Verona Assortment and plans to promote the gathering of modest clothes, tops, cardigans and hijabs on-line. The clothes will launch on Macy’s web site on Feb. 15.
The model was developed by Lisa Vogl, a graduate of Macy’s minority- and women-owned enterprise improvement program, which goals to supply extra style variety.
Whereas Macy’s is the primary main U.S. division retailer to promote hijabs, it joins different manufacturers providing merchandise geared toward Muslims. Nike, for instance, launched a high-performance hijab final 12 months made for athletics. And Mattel introduced plans for a doll modeled after Ibtihaj Muhammad, an American fencer who competed within the Olympics whereas sporting a hijab.
