ISTANBUL, Turkey — Trend retailer Zara says it’s engaged on establishing a “hardship fund” to assist a gaggle of Turkish staff who have been left unpaid when an outsource manufacturing unit closed down.
The employees went into Zara retailers in Istanbul, leaving tags inside clothes that learn: “I made this merchandise you’re going to purchase, however I didn’t receives a commission for it.”
The employees have been employed by the producer Bravo, which the employees say owes them three months of pay in addition to severance allowance.
Spain-based Inditex, which owns Zara, mentioned it’s working with a commerce union and retailers Mango and Subsequent for a fund to assist staff affected by “the fraudulent disappearance of the Bravo manufacturing unit’s proprietor.”
Inditex mentioned: “We’re dedicated to discovering a swift resolution for all of these impacted.”
